Founder Foreword.
As high school students and young beekeepers, we started developing a device that would help beekeepers fight Varroa more effectively and simply. What began as a school project continued throughout our university studies, through countless tests, prototypes, failures and improvements.
With the support of the Science Technology Park Belgrade, the Innovation Fund of the Republic of Serbia, and experts from the fields of beekeeping and science, we gradually turned our idea into a real product. Today, Eco Hive exists with the same purpose it had from the very beginning — to use technology to help bees and beekeepers. We believe the future of beekeeping is not about choosing between nature and technology, but about bringing them together.

A Smarter Way to Protect the Hive
Designed around three simple principles:

Eco Hive is an automated system for controlling Varroa, one of the biggest threats to honey bee colonies.
The system uses formic acid, a naturally occurring organic treatment, and delivers it through specially designed evaporators placed inside the hive.Instead of applying the treatment manually and repeatedly, Eco Hive controls the evaporation process over an extended period, helping maintain a more consistent treatment environment throughout the hive.The system consists of a central control unit, evaporators and a solar panel.
A single central unit can control up to 50 evaporators, allowing multiple hives to be treated simultaneously. Once the system is installed and activated, the treatment process runs automatically, reducing the beekeeper's workload and the need for frequent intervention.
By combining beekeeping knowledge with automation and technology, Eco Hive makes Varroa treatment simpler, more controlled and less time-consuming — while supporting beekeepers who want to maintain an organic approach to hive management.
